“Stained Glass” Butterflies

1. Print out your butterfly template (at the bottom of this post) and gather supplies.

   1. template

   2. tissue paper

   3. scissors or exacto knife

   4. single sided contact paper x2

   5. hole punch

   6. string

   

2. Cut out the inside of the butterfly’s wings.

   

3. Place one sheet of single sided contact paper on the front of the butterfly sheet. Where the ink is touching the sticky side of the contact paper. (hard to photograph)

   

4. Cut tissue paper into small bits.

   

5. Apply the cut out tissue paper to the back (where the sticky contact paper is exposed) to create the ‘stained glass’ effect.

   

6. Place another sheet of contact paper over your tissue paper additions to seal together.

   

7. Cut around the edges of your butterfly & hole punch to hang.

   

Hang these in your window or by some mirrors to enjoy!
