5 years ago, this happened...
I married my very best friend.
While it’s not a long time, it’s still a big deal! A milestone we are proud of. We are rounding out being together a total of 10 years by the end of this year. And this year alone, has been full of - in my opinion - our most profound growth.
We bought land, sold our home, moved into a camper, started building our home, invited our son into the world, moved out of camper, moved into a rental, then moved into our family’s lake home & now learning how to navigate it all, alongside expanding & running a business.
Say, just a bunch of go-getters & risk takers if you ask me!
In a society that tosses marriage to the side like disposable underwear, I cling to the vows that we made before God, to honor, serve and love my husband until death do us part! but that last bit could wait a long while, as I’m thoroughly enjoying this life with him.
I’d like to brag on him for a moment…
He makes the coffee & fries my eggs typically with a smile on his face almost every morning.
Without hesitation, he has stepped into a present & loving father.
His beard is hot.
He devotes his life to carpentry & providing for his family.
He loves the Lord, deeply.
When I’m having a bad day, he draws me a bath & brings me chocolate. (He gets an A++.)
He reads his book to me out loud before bedtime.
We have in depth, thoughtful discussions that make me think and reconsider. He is so wise.
He is goofy. A necessity that he willfully brings to the table.
This life is so rich with him in it. And the celebration of our marriage has me reminiscent & also excited for what’s to come. The challenges have laced us tighter, the joys have lifted us higher and the sweetness of the mundane ordinary that makes up the majority of all of our lives has gifted us with a deeper love. Lord thank you for this covenant.
xoxo, Mo
